Today was a long day. It started off with a light breakfast provided by the staff at Casa Koinonia where we are staying. Then we headed through traffic to Apostle Vasco's house to attend the funeral for his grandson. Although it was a sad and dificult time in memory of a young man of just 27 years, we felt honored that we were able to attend and participate in the service. We were treated like honored guests, given seats right behind the family, and were the first to eat our lunch. Pastor Barry was also able to share some comforting and encouraging words to those who attended, we were amazed that he was able to give such an amazing message on the spot! After spending time with some of the pastors, 3 of whom were named Armando, we set off to visit some of the churches that have been planted by Ark of Salvation, including Pastor Daniel's church. It was great to be able to see some of the progress that has been made in building his church. Dylan was invited back to Mozambique to give a sermon one day at Pastor Daniel's church. It will be awesome when that day comes. From there we visited Pastor Joseph's church and the new land that they are acquiring soon. They are excited to start building their church in the new location. Then Pastor Joseph and his wife invited us to their house for dinner. We were treated to a very tasty dinner and it was put together very quickly, we werent even planning on eating there until about 30 minutes before we arrived! The people have been so hospitable to us. We really feel like family. After dinner, on the way back to Casa Koinonia, we visited Pastor Soda's church. At each of the churches, we were asked to pray and bless the facilities, the pastors, and the congregations. We feel honored that God has chosen us to represent Him and our church in blessing these churches in Mozambique. Its been a long day, but it was a great day. Tomorrow we get to teach at the Ark of Salvation elementary school. A lot of the sons are really looking forward to that!
